Every Planted piece is made to order, which means there is room to adapt size, proportion, comfort, fabric and finishing detail around the home it is made for. Whether you are starting with one of our existing designs or need something more particular, we can guide you through the choices so the finished piece feels considered, comfortable and right for the room.
What can be adapted
Many of our sofas, armchairs, headboards and footstools can be adapted in size, depth, height, cushion feel, fabric, leg finish and finishing detail. We can also advise on proportion, fabric repeat, natural fillings and practical considerations such as access, layout and how the piece will be used day to day.
Starting with an existing design
If you like one of our collection pieces, we can usually adapt it to suit your space. This might mean changing the size of a sofa, adjusting the seat depth, choosing a different cushion feel, altering a footstool height or adding details such as piping, studs, borders or buttoning.
Something more particular
For rooms that need a more specific answer, we can work with you or your interior designer to develop a piece around the space. This may include a particular shape, scale, fabric, headboard profile, modular sofa layout or footstool size. We will talk through what is possible and make recommendations before providing a considered proposal.
A guided process
You do not need to arrive with all the answers. A rough size, room photographs, fabric ideas or a few references are enough to begin. We can talk by phone, email or at the workshop, then guide you through comfort, shape, materials, fabric quantity and finishing details.
Made with accountable hands
Each piece is made in our Cheltenham workshop using traditional upholstery skills and carefully chosen natural materials. It is followed through by accountable hands, from frame to final stitch, and signed by the person who made it.
